Castle Rock featurette explores Stephen King-land | SciFiNow

Hulu’s new Castle Rock featurette goes looking for the inspirations for King’s haunted town

While Hulu’s Castle Rock still doesn’t have a UK air date or broadcaster (seriously?!?), there’s a fun new featurette for all us Stephen King obsessives that explores the inspirations for every corner of his iconic and deeply unlucky small town.

“As a child, Henry (André Holland) was involved in an accident that left his father dead and him the sole suspect, but he has no memory of it and eventually fled when townspeople turned against him. Now a death-row attorney with few connections — his clients, see, usually die — Henry only returned home because a mysterious inmate at Shawshank State Penitentiary (Bill Skarsgård), who was discovered in a cage deep beneath the facility, asked for him. Only him. Yet, Henry has never heard of the inmate — and the inmate, nicknamed “The Kid,” has been in solitary confinement so long that he may be insane.”

Produced by JJ Abrams and created by Sam Shaw and Dustin Thomason, Castle Rock stars André Holland, Sissy Spacek, Bill Skarsgård, Melanie Lynskey, Jane Levy, Allison Tolman, Terry O’Quinn and Scott Glenn as Alan Pangborn. Here’s the latest trailer in case you missed it…

Castle Rock begins on 25 July on Hulu in the US. No UK air-date has been announced. Keep up with the latest genre news with the new issue of SciFiNow.
