Netflix And Blizzard Entertainment Are Rumored To Be Bringing Us A ‘Diablo’ Series

A new rumor that is floating around has tied Blizzard Entertainment and Netflix together to deliver a take on ‘Diablo‘ for binge-watchers across the world. Not only that but it also states that Andrew Cosby who is tackling the upcoming ‘Hellboy‘ film is delivering the script. The writer isn’t well known in cinematic circles at this point but as the co-founder of BOOM! Studios he has been working in the genre for years and has quite a bit of work under his belt with writing the comic book tie-ins or adaptations of movies.

We know that Netflix has been loving the attention which ‘Castlevania‘ has received so far and has already renewed the series for a third season. Another video game adaptation with darker themes seems like the perfect fit for the streaming giant. There is no word as to if this take on Diablo would be a live-action run or animated.

Blizzard Entertainment’s ‘Warcraft‘ didn’t fare well at the domestic box office but international sales have hinted that a sequel could be in the works, but the developer likely wouldn’t mind seeing an extension of their other properties as well. Most of the games which the studio has put out would be a perfect fit for an ongoing story, and even ‘Warcraft’ had to suffer from trying to tell too much in too short of a time period.

For those unfamiliar with ‘Diablo’, it has been around since 1996 and is a hack and slash set in a fantasy world and follows the adventure of a hero who is trying to prevent Diablo, the Lord of Terror, from destroying his world.

Would you be interested in ‘Diablo’ heading to Netflix as a new ongoing fantasy series? If this rumor proves to be true would you rather it be a live-action story or an animated one? Are there any specific plots from any of the games that you feel need to be brought to life? Share your thoughts below!
